In 2021, FRAC-Artothèque Nouvelle-Aquitaine is launching a new program: Les Apprentis Collectionneurs.
Les Apprentis Collectionneurs is a convivial adventure in contemporary art. A first for public institutions, the program is being rolled out in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The adventure takes place over four years, during which the apprentice collectors will discover artists, gallery owners and exhibitions. The group will participate in regional, national and international events such as exhibitions, fairs and biennials. Accompanied and advised by Émilie Flory, curator and art critic, the apprentice collectors meet quarterly to exchange ideas, choose and acquire works of art.
With Les Apprentis Collectionneurs, FRAC-Artothèque is committed to supporting people in their amateur art practice. Conceived as an experimental program based on learning, hospitality and social commitment, it accompanies each participant in a process of acquisition for cultural, non-speculative purposes, and positions the work of art as an accessible cultural asset.
The first group will be accompanied from 2021 to 2025.
