Professional Support
The conservation-restoration of artworks of contemporary art is a central issue in ensuring the longevity of public and private collections.
Given the diversity of mediums and supports, each intervention must be adapted to the specific material characteristics and the artist's intentions. Structured support enables these operations to be carried out with efficiency, rigor and respect for the works.
At every stage of the project, from the definition of priorities to post-restoration follow-up, the organization is designed in consultation with the sponsors and in close collaboration with the artists or their beneficiaries. Coordination involves: identifying specialized restorers, planning interventions, liaising with artists or their galleries where necessary, and supporting decision-making.
Thanks to a network of experienced professionals covering all fields of restoration (photography, painting, graphic arts, plastic materials, polymers, metals, electronic elements, organic materials, wood, ceramics, etc.), I can build solid, coherent and effective programs, whatever the scale or objectives of your project. Each mission preserves the integrity of the works and ensures their future understanding and transmission.
I have accompanied several public and private institutions in conservation-restoration campaigns, including the Frac-Artothèque Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, and, during my time as director of the art center image/imatge, supervised the preparation of many works prior to exhibition. These projects have involved artworks by nationally and internationally recognized artists, such as Vito Acconci, Élisabeth Ballet, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, Sophie Calle, Lynne Cohen, Michel François, Douglas Huebler, Michel Journiac, Annette Messager, Gordon Matta-Clark, Nicolas Milhé, Roman Opalka, Alain Séchas, Cindy Sherman, William Wegman, Rachel Whiteread, Erwin Wurm...
